Cloverlea Primary School

Volunteer Helper Morning - Saturday 2nd October

Over 20 parents, children and members of staff from Barclays Bank gave up their own time last Saturday morning to come into school to help clear and maintain the school nature area after a summer of vigorous growth. Special thanks to the team from Barclays Bank (organised by Selina Budenberg of the PTA) who helped out as part of the bank’s commitment to enabling their staff to support community projects.

Also special thanks to a group of dads ( led by Chris McKenzie and James Spark) who took on the difficult task of drilling, moving and fixing a large and extremely heavy sandstone plinth which will be used as the base for the school’s 40th birthday  brass sundial purchased by the PTA.

Everyone worked extremely hard and the large parts of the area were transformed, making it much more accessible and well maintained. Mrs Entwistle (Foundation Stage teaching assistant) was foreman-in-chief and did a great job of directing the work

Another volunteer morning has been planned for Saturday 6th November. Keep an eye open for a letter coming home before the half term break.
