ROYAL WEDDING 'DRESS TO IMPRESS' DAY

A great day was had by all on Thursday 28th April when the school celebrated the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton with a 'dress to impress day' The staff and children came to school dressed for a wedding or a special occasion. A special assembly was held in the hall and royal wedding activities took place in the classrooms throughout the day.

The union flag was hoisted on the school flagpole and all the children and staff were treated to a slice of wedding day cake. It was quite a day!

COMIC RELIEF

We had a fabulous time on Red Nose Day doing 'something funny for money'. The children came in dressed up in weird and wonderful ways. There were crazy wigs, outlandish outfits, marvellous make-up and amazing accessories - and it wasn't just the children, the teachers joined in too! The photo below shows the winner of 'best oufit' from each year group.

Many thanks to the parents who contributed time and money to the event. We raised a fantastic  £261 in total.

ROTARY DANCE COMPETITION

This year we have once again been lucky to be involved with the Alrincham Rotary Club who kindly involved us in a local Dance competition.

The competition ran in each year from Year 1 up to Year 6. The best group from each class was then chosen to perform their dance in front of the school, to decide a school-wide winner.

It was a very tough call, as the children performed brilliantly and standards were so good but, after much debate, Year 6 were chosen to represent Cloverlea at the final against the other schools. Many thanks to the Rotary Club for organising the event, and congratulations to all the children who took part, with a particular well done going to the Year 6 finalists who delivered wonderful performance to gain the position of 'Runners up' in the final at the Cresta Court.

HARVEST THANK YOUS

Our special 'Harvest around the world' took place on Friday 15th October. The children  entertained us with harvest songs and rhymes, poems they had written, a dragon dance, African masks, as well as information about how harvest is celebrated in different countries and cultures around the world.

It was lovely to see so many parents and friends at our Harvest festival this year. Many thanks for your donations of food, which were gratefully received by Social Services. Thank you too for your donations to the collection at the end of the assembly. We raised £103.10 which will go to the charity 'Shelter' working in Manchester.
