The kitchen reroofing project has proven more complicated than expected and has run into a number of difficulties. Therefore, the project will overrun the planned completion date of the end of August. The project will carry on for another week to ten days after the reopening of the school to pupils.
Scaffolding and barrier fencing will remain in place round the kitchen area until the end of the job.
I have met with the building contractor and the Trafford Surveyor managing the project and we have discussed all aspects of Health and Safety and risk assessed the site for when the children return on Monday.
I will be talking to the children about the issue in assembly on Monday morning.
The kitchen will be fully operational from Monday and there will be no problem in the school using the hall from that day.
Spaces in the car park will be reduced due to the contractor's cabins, equipment and vehicles being on site. Parents are reminded that the car park is for staff only until after 5.00 p.m. Please do not use the car park for any reason before this time each day.
