Design & Technology

Puppets

We have enjoyed designed and making our own puppets. First, we explored different ways to join two pieces of fabric. Using safety pins was quite tricky! Stapling and gluing was much easier!

Next we listened to the story of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ and designed our own puppets. Finally, we followed our designs to make our wonderful puppets! We had to learn how to cut the fabric but it was fun!

Fruit Smoothies!

 We have also been busy designing and making our own healthy fruit smoothies. First, we explored different fruits and vegetables. We looked inside them and sorted them into fruit and vegetables. We got a few surprises when we discussed the correct answers!

We tasted pineapple, strawberries, banana and avocado before choosing two to go into our recipe with either orange, lemon or lime juice. We also tasted a shop-bought smoothie! It was fun tasting the ingredients! Finally, we followed our recipes to make our own smoothie.
