Summer Term 2019
This term, our topic work will be all about living things. we will be investigating what plants need to grow and survive. We will also be exploring the different types of micro-habitats found in our wildlife area. We will be thinking about why a dinosaur would not make a good pet! In geography, we will be learning about African landscapes. Later in the term we will be visiting Knowsley Safari Park where we will have the chance to spend the day with a ranger to learn more about Africa and the types of animals which live there.
As we have also been learning about Judaism in RE, we are hoping to visit the Jewish Synagogue in Hale Barns.
Our Visit to a Synagogue
During our time in Year 2, we have been learning about Judaism. We visited the synagogue in Hale. Rabbi Amir showed us around on told us lots of interesting information. We amazed by how beautiful the torah scrolls are! We were so well behaved that Rabbi Amir has invited next year's class!
Our End of SAT's Party!
We have worked so hard that Mrs Harris said we could have a fun afternoon! We chose to play with toys and dress up. Then we watched a DVD whilst wearing our slippers and cuddling up to cushions and teddies! A big thank you to Jackson S's mum who made us some wonderful cakes which tasted delicious!
Knowsley Safari Park
On Tuesday 11th June we visited Knowsley Safari Park to help us to learn more about Africa and also living things. It was a very wet day but we didn't let the rain spoil our fun! When we arrived, we all went to a Safari School workshop where we met Gary (a Giant African Snail) and some hissing cockroaches! Next we watched the Sea Lion Show while we ate our lunches. We were amazed by the brilliant tricks which they could perform! Then we watched the birds of prey show. We had to bend down very low while they swooped over our heads! Finally we got back onto they coach for a wonderful safari drive tour. We learnt lots of interesting facts. Please ask us to tell you some!
