Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

April 13th

Hello again Year 4,

I hope you have had a lovely Easter weekend with the family. Did you get a visit from the Easter Bunny?

My boys enjoyed their Easter egg hunt in the garden and are doing their best to pace themselves with the goodies that were delivered.

We have been enjoying our daily walks in this lovely weather and the BBQ has made its debut for 2020. We even got the paddling pool out yesterday as it was scorching. You'll be able to see in the photo gallery that Sebastian is currently fixated on wearing Christmas outfits. Not sure why - he's a little eccentric!

You'll be pleased to know that my baking skills are coming along nicely. After the cookies, we made cupcakes topped with vanilla buttercream. The kids said they were epic. One of Sebastian's maths activities on White Rose Maths, was to create ladybird biscuits, which I think I mentioned last week. I've included a photo of the finished product. I didn't try one of those as I'm not keen on icing (too sweet) but, again, they got the seal of approval from the boys.

We're continuing to keep in touch with family using Zoom. We've just finished a quiz (runners-up!) using Zoom and Kahoot. The boys' cousin, Megan, wrote the questions and did a brilliant job. Quizzes are a great way to spend time with friends and family. Has anyone else participated in an online quiz?

I hope you enjoyed the video of the toilet roll challenge that Miss Sidyot put together. It made me smile.

Remember that you can email me your news and photos - I had some lovely photos through from Isabelle, Carys and Ella last week, which are on the 'Year 4 At Home' section. It was really great to hear how they're getting on and thanks to the girls for sharing their photos and news with us.

I have put another chilli challenge on our home learning page. This one is connected to our science unit on Teeth and the Digestive System.  Please take a look and enjoy the activities.

I'm at school this week, so I will see some of you then.

Take Care everyone,

Mrs Rickels
