Autumn Term 2016
This term our topic is called 'Healthy Me!' We will be learning about how to look after our bodies by exercising and eating healthily. In Design and Technology, we will be designing and making our own pizzas! To help us to learn more, 'The Fun Food Chef' will also be visiting us after the half term holiday! During art lessons, we will be have fun making models of our faces out of salt dough and also fruit faces! In history, we will be learning about Florence Nightingale and how she helped to improve hospitals.
A Healthy Start!
Having fun participating in the Joe Wickes, school fitness week!
Florence Nightingale Workshop
On 18th October, to celebrate the end of our history topic, Year 2 took part in a Florence Nightingale workshop. We had great fun acting out scenes from her life. It also made our topic more realistic.
Fun Food Chef
On Tuesday 2nd November, the 'Fun Food Chef' visited Year 2 to help us learn how to make pizzas. We made our own pizza dough and then we added the toppings. We also made fruit granolas and banana and strawberry smoothies. They tasted delicious! We also learnt more about healthy eating. We will be designing and making our own healthy pizzas in class soon.
Perfect Pizzas!
Following the recent visit from the 'Fun Food Chef', Year 2 have been busy designing and making their own pizzas. They had to be tasty, colourful and healthy! As you can see from our photos, we enjoyed eating them! Well done Year 2!
Queen Elizabeth II
In history, we really enjoying finding out about the life of our queen. We made time lines, thought about what we would do if we were king or queen and we made power points about Queen Elizabeth's life. We also looked back to when she was crowned queen and we made our own coronation crowns!
'Hey Ewe!'
This year our Christmas production was called 'Hey Ewe!' We performed it for the rest of the school and then twice more for our families! Year 2 all had a speaking part and we worked hard to learn all our lines. Mrs Harris was very proud of us!
