Friday 17th April 2020
Good morning Year 6! I am looking forward to chatting with those of you who would like to today. I’ve had lots of emails asking for calls and I’m hoping more of you will phone school today while I’m in if you want to tell me what you have been up to during the time school has been closed. If you do call and there is no answer then please leave a message and I will get back to you.
Your tasks for today are as follows…
Continue to spend about 10 minutes working on your times tables on TTRS or hit the button in order to keep your fluency with them up.
To continue our work on angles, after your times tables, please work through the final angles lesson of the week which I have linked below. Answers are also provided for you to self-mark once you have finished. If you need any guidance with this lesson, please follow the link below and watch the video that corresponds to today’s lesson (Summer Term week 1 lesson 5).
English: spellings and grammar
Continue to work on your spellings as needed.
Also, complete the grammar task I have attached below. Copy out the sentences into your home learning book so you can work on your handwriting as well as the grammar revision.
Well-being: virtual zoo
To keep your minds healthy and positive, remember to complete your daily well-being activity where possible. For today’s well-being activity, we are going on a school trip to the zoo (I wish!)! Chester Zoo's YouTube channel have lots of videos showing their animals being fed or just enjoying their time in the sun! I have posted one of the videos below, but if you click on the link (click on the title of the video), it will take you to more. I know we have lots of animal lovers in the class so I hope you enjoy these videos! If anything interests you about the animals and makes you want to find out more, why not research them and create a fact file or poster about them?
Your topic tasks for this week…
Keep working on your Viking and Anglo Saxons chilli challenges too. I hope you enjoy learning all about this new topic! Also, don’t forget to keep going with Joe Wicks if you can. Keeping active and healthy will be the best way to fight off the virus.
I hope you are all still well and that you have a wonderful weekend with your families.
