Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

Monday 13th April

Hi Everyone,

Hope you have had a great Easter weekend. The weather has been really nice so I am sure you have spent a lot of time outside in your gardens just like I have. As you will know from my last letter, I spent last week decorating my kitchen and dining room. It is now completed and it looking a lot better. I am not sure what I am going to be doing next week but I know that I have a few things to prepare for you at home, such as a new Chilli Challenge grid so at least that is something to get stuck into.

Again, thank you to all of you who have sent in messages and pictures. They are really greatly received so please keep sending them in. I have been especially pleased to see Oliver making the most of his learning at home and coming on in leaps and bounds regarding his Maths work. I am sure all of you are doing equally as well and managing the tasks that I post on the Year 3 Home Learning page.

This week I am setting you a challenge to create a new Words of Encouragement poster. You will find the information about this in the Well Being and Mindfulness section. I am hoping to create a Year 3 words of encouragement collage on the school website so please don't be left out. Complete the challenge and email a photograph of your poster so that your work can be displayed. I will be doing one too so lets all get stuck in.

Poppy continues to keep me busy. She particularly enjoyed decorating last week and managed to get some paint on her fur. She is very playful and enjoys bringing her ball to me so that I can throw it for her. Sometimes I have to hide it because she doesn't stop!!

I hope you and your families are well and not finding the lockdown too bad. I know that you all miss members of your family who you can't visit because of the coronavirus but we are so lucky to have the technology to see and chat to loved ones during this time. That is what I have been doing. Every Sunday my brothers and sister all get together online with our mum and dad to catch up and it is really special to us all. We have a laugh and we just enjoy the chat. I know that when all this is over, we are planning a big party. I am sure a lot of us will be planning parties. I think we will deserve it, don't you?

Have a great week. Keep working hard. Keep smiling and keep safe.
