Monday 13th July 2020
Good morning everyone, and welcome to a new week of home learning – your penultimate one before you begin secondary school!
Your tasks for today are as follows…
Maths: angles in polygons
Continue to spend about 10 minutes each day working on your times tables on TTRS or hit the button in order to keep them fluent and up to the speeds and accuracy we have worked so hard to achieve.
After that, use the link below to find today’s lesson on angles in polygons. As usual, read through the instructions and watch the videos, and then complete the activities provided. The answers are linked at the bottom of the page for you to mark your work once you have finished.
English: Shakespeare reimagined
For today’s English task, follow the link below and learn how to reimagine one of Shakespeare’s stories. Watch the videos and have a go at the writing task.
Well-being: listen to the seventh chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone read by Olivia Coleman and other guests
For today’s well-being activity, have a listen to the seventh chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone read by Olivia Coleman with special appearances from Jonathon Van Ness and Kate McKinnon. This chapter is called ‘The Sorting Hat’ and involves Harry and friends arriving at Hogwarts and being sorted into their houses. You do have to sign up to the website if you haven’t already, but ask a parent to help you if need be. It can be so relaxing listening to a story – I hope you enjoy!
If you fancy a challenge, have a go at the chapter challenges after you have listened to the seventh chapter being read.
Music: how and why music makes you feel good
Your additional lesson today is music. In particular, you will be learning about how and why music and singing makes you feel good. Follow the link below to complete today’s additional lesson.
Have a great day of home learning!
