It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andy Thomson, who was a governor at Cloverlea Primary School for nine years and Chair of Governors for five of those years (2008-2013). Andy passed away last week after a long illness.
Our sympathies go out to Tracey (Andy's wife) and his three children, who were and are pupils at Cloverlea. His youngest child is still a pupil at the school.
Andy was a great servant of the school, guiding the governing body through a time of constant change in national education policy. I will always remember him for his strong support, his great sense of humour and his skilful chairing of the main board meetings, ensuring that we made good progress getting through the lengthy agendas (He didn't let us get side-tracked!).
His funeral will take place at Altrincham Crematorium on Tuesday 22nd November at 3.30 p.m.
He will be greatly missed.
Peter Linnett (Headteacher)
