We were very pleased to welcome back the guest environmental teachers to help us to take part in the annual Bollin Valley Sustainability Week, held in school on week commencing Monday 30th September. The school organised three environmental education workshops over the week in keeping with our status as a 'Green Flag' awarded Eco-School.
On Monday 30rd September the Year 2 class experienced the 'Treedom' workshop which looked at forest habitats including woodland food chains and webs.
On Wednesday 2nd October the Year 4 class took part a 'Make the most of your school grounds' workshop, which kind of speaks for itself.
Finally, on Friday 4th October, the Year 3 class took part in a 'Honey Harvesting' workshop. This involved one of Trafford's Green Space Managers bringing some full honeycombs into school and showing the children how to extract the honey from the wax comb and put it in a jar.
All the classes enjoyed these informative and exciting workshops.
