National Anti-Bullying Week November 2014

Anti- Bullying Week

The school has recently taking part in the National Anti-Bullying week at the start of November. This consisted of a series of assemblies and work in class on the theme of bullying – its causes and consequences.

It covered areas such as,

  • What is bullying?
  • Where can bullying happen?
  • Different types of bullying
  • Why do people bully?
  • How does bullying make the victim feel?
  • What to do if you are being bullied?
  • Asking for help if you are being bullied.

There was a particular focus on Cyber-bullying (through social media, e-mail, computer gaming, etc) as this is the form of bullying that is most prominent today, whereas it was generally unheard of 10 years ago.
