We were very pleased to welcome back to school the educational live music band, 'The Pop Project'. The 'Pop Project' were last with us five years ago when we celebrated the school's 40th birthday. Some of our Year 6 children just about remembered them from their last performance, so it was good to welcome them back.
This year, the theme of their performance was the development of pop music and children's literature from the 1960s to the present day. The band explored the famous songs and famous published children's books covering each decade. It was an informative and fun session, mixing live music, song and literature. The two 'concerts' took place in the school hall, a longer session for the junior children (Years 3-6) and a shoter, simpler version for our younger pupils.
From the sound of music, singing and clapping coming from the hall the visit was a great success.
