Return to School - September 2021

From August 2021 guidance regarding those testing for Covid-19, close contacts of positive cases and isolation periods has changed. Please see the attached documents and PowerPoint presentation in relation to this and the updated details.

From September 29th 2021 there has been an update to advice in regards to isolation for siblings of children who have tested positive or children who have a member of the household that have tested positive - please see the attached letter in regards to.

Return to School - 8th March 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you a few stipulations and measures in preparation for our 'whole school return' on Monday 8th March 2021.

A revised risk assessment is below and this will be in place for the start of school on the 8th March. I would like to offer some further clarity on the measures that we, as a governing body, have agreed on in the letter, also attached below.

School Closure Update - 4th January 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

As I am sure most of you are aware the Prime Minister has just announced a new National Lockdown starting tomorrow. As such Cloverlea will now be closed to everyone except keyworker and vulnerable children. To protect our school community we ask that you only send your children to school if it is absolutely essential and we request that you provide evidence of being a key worker.

School start and finish times will remain at their regular staggered times so that we can maintain the bubbles within school. This will allow the bubbles to be maintained as and when all children will be allowed to return to school. We would ask that all parents/carers remain outside of school property when dropping off and picking up children. We would also request that masks be worn at drop off and pick up. If for any reason you need to come to school outside of drop off and pick up times please wear a mask and Mrs Sykes or Mrs Moss will come up to the gate to assist you.

School dinners will remain as normal tomorrow but this will be reviewed in the morning so we will inform you of any changes for lunchtime provision as soon as we can. We would also ask that all children attending school to please wear school uniform as normal. Again we will update you all if this changes or if we want children to attend in PE kits on any specific days.

Please be advised that school nursery will only be open for key worker and vulnerable children.

All children not in school will be doing remote learning via the class Dojo so please ensure you are all registered. Please upload all completed work so class teachers can mark work and offer encouragement. Weekly wellbeing zoom calls will take place for each year group - we will send login details for this at some point this week.

We appreciate how challenging this situation is for all parents and we know that you can all only do your best. We will miss all the children very much so please do keep in touch via the class Dojo and upload any other interesting things your child may get up to in the coming weeks.

Coronavirus (Covid-19) Catch-up Premium

For the year 2020-2021 schools will receive additional funding from the government to be put towards helping children to catch-up on work that may have been missed due to the ongoing pandemic and to assist in helping them achieve their educational potential.

The grant will be used towards a new robust assessment system that will help review where children are, in regards to their progress and identify where additional assistance may be needed. It shall also be used for a specific intervention teacher who will be available solely to assist children who require additional help, to catch-up on work potentially missed or fallen behind on due to the current learning provisions.

Homework and Remote Learning

Returning to School in September - 2020

We are extremely pleased to be reopening our school in September to all our pupils. To ensure that pupils and staff are safe we have put in place systems and routines that we will be following. Although school will run, and feel a little different than before, we are making sure that it is as close to normal as possible and that our children feel happy and part of the Cloverlea family once again. We cannot wait for the Cloverlea buzz to be felt in our school. We have missed it terribly over the past months.

To make sure we are able to keep our pupils safe we also need your support and co-operation. Working together when we reopen school to all pupils is really important and will ensure success. We ask that you make sure you keep up-to-date with our systems and routines going forward in September and work with us to ensure that they are followed. The document entitled 'Cloverlea Risk Assessment Amended' will provide you with all the information that you need. We ask that you familiarise yourself with this document before the return to school in September. Please be aware that this document will constantly change and evolve over the following weeks and months as we react to the recommendations and policies presented to us by the Government and Local Authority. We will, of course, make sure that you are informed of any changes that are made.

Supporting Families During Covid-19

At Cloverlea, we know this time for parents can be quite daunting, stressfull and challenging, especially when balancing work, home learning, child care and self-care whilst keeping the family home a happy place and a safe sanctuary for all. We know that you are probably trying hard to keep worries — both your children’s and your own — under control. Trafford Educational Psychology 

Trafford now have an Educational Psychology Facebook page. This has the function for parents to book a telephone appointment with someone from the team and there will be Facebook live sessions happening over the coming weeks e.g. on managing anxiety, Q&A sessions etc. The telephone appointments will be to offer general support for parents.
