Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

Saturday 6th June

Hello Everyone,

I hope you have made the most of your two weeks without home learning tasks. The weather has been very good, although over the past couple of days we have seen the rain, which, actually is most welcomed for our gardens. I have been doing lots of things around the house and getting together with my friends, of course following the social distancing, which is something I am sure you all know by now. I have also been in school last week trying to bring some fun to the Key Worker children. I managed to get Mrs Bonney to come and do some cooking, which was a great success, as you can imagine.

Things are changing at school, as you might know. Year 6, Year 1 and Reception are returning to school over the next couple of weeks. Each class has to be split into two groups and cannot mix with other children in the school building. There are hand sanitising stations throughout the school and signs to show the 2 metre distancing rule so that we ensure staff and children are safe at school. It is nothing like school as we know it at all. It lacks the family feeling.

I have planned your home learning tasks for the next week but I haven't updated the chilli challenges. I would like you to choose your own mini topic for the next chilli challenge as I am sure you all have certain things that you like or have different ideas of what you could do. In school next week, for example, I am working on a 'Fun at the Fair' project with the Key Worker children so you might want to do that.

I have put a topic web template onto the school website in Week 10. I would like you to think of your topic and record the activities that you are going, or will try, to complete. This topic web will allow you then to complete your topic successfully. If you would like to send your ideas to me via email I would love to see what you are doing.

Well that's it from me for now. Please continue to keep smiling and to keep safe. I know that it is not fair that you are not returning to school but if things continue to get better we might get to see each other before the Summer, if not it is not the end of the world. I am not going anywhere and neither are you so I will see you next year at school.

Missing you all,

Mrs Dent
