Spring Term

Spring Term 2018

Our new topic is called 'Terrific Timperley!' We will be learning about the geography of Timperley Village and also what makes Timperley a great place to live. We will also be finding out what Timperley was like long ago! In art, will learn about the work of the great artist Lowry and hopefully, we will produce our own 'Little Lowry' pictures! In science, we will be learning about different materials and their uses. Towards the end of the term, we will begin a new topic about seeds, bulbs and plants.

Practical Maths

We really enjoy learning by being busy. We made giant number lines from metre rulers and then we had to estimate where the beanbags which we threw landed.

We also learnt about 3D shapes by making our own skeleton shapes using straws and plasticene. It was very tricky but we didn't give up!

Class Assembly

A big well done to all of Year 2 for your fantastic class assembly on 9th February! You spoke with clear voices, sang beautifully and smiled throughout. Thank you to everyone who was able to help us to celebrate.

Biscuit Making!

To celebrate the end of our maths topic about mass, we made chocolate-chip cookies! First we had to double all the ingredients and then measure the correct amount using grams. They tasted delicious!

Celebrating World Book Week!

We really enjoyed dressing-up as our favourite book characters! We also brought in our favourite books to share with each other. Some of us were inspired to try new authors.

Magic Potions!

We carefully measured the ingredients to make an 'invisibility potion'! Then we designed and made our own potions. Each potion had to be 1 litre. We made stretching potions, laser potions, walk through wall potions and even teleportation potions!
