Summer second half

In this, the last half term of the year, we will be consolidating our learning and getting ready for our move into Year 6.We will continue to explore many of the topics begun in summer 1 such as our history topic of the Early Islamic Civilisation and our RE work on Christian and Humanist values.

In our Science work, we will be learning about the changes that humans undergo in their lifetimes and this will link well to our Jigsaw work on Changing Me.

Look our for more photos as the weeks progress.

Personal Safety Awareness with Judo Education

We had a super personal safety awareness workshop with a representative from Judo Education where we learnt how to defend and protect ourselves without hurting anyone. It was a fabulous session and great fun too.

Summer first half

This half term we have got plenty to look forward to and here is a flavour of some of the things that we will be doing:

In English, we will be looking at biographies with a particular focus on Ernest Shackleton, the great Antarctic explorer.

In Maths, there will be a focus on Fractions, Decimals and Percentages followed by Geometry work on Properties of Shapes which will include lots of work on angles.

Our Science focus is Living things and their habitats where we will be exploring life cycles.

In History, we will journey back in time to the Early Islamic Civilisation (AD900) where we will explore some of the great advances made during those times.

Our DT and Art work will be linked to the History topic and we will have the opportunity to explore Islamic and Arabic calligraphy.

We are lucky to be welcoming representatives from Altrincham football club to work with us on football skills and we will continue our PE fundamentals work throughout this term.

Our RE work will explore what is important to Christians and Humanists and in Jigsaw we will further our work on relationships and the changes that we experience.

All in all, a busy term ahead.

Keep checking back for photos which will be added as the term goes on.
