Summer Term - 2nd Half

We had a delivery of caterpillars after the half term. We have watched them getting bigger and now they have formed into chrysalides. We will be moving them into the butterfly habitat and waiting excitedly for the Painted Lady butterflies to emerge.

5 Painted Lady butterflies emerged from the chrysalides. We observed them in the butterfly garden for a few days and then released them into the garden. We called them Lily, Poppy, Sparkle, Rose and Hattie.

We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar story and counted the fruit he ate each day of the week. The children created curly caterpillars using the dabbers and paint and also used different equipment to create repeating patterns.

Spider Week - We made bottle top spiders and sparkly webs using glitter and threading cotton. We looked at the patterns in spider webs and then made own web on the carpet and very carefully stepped over the web to get to the other side of the circle. Boris the giant spider also had a turn!

We baked ladybird and butterfly biscuits and decorated them with icing and chocolate chips!
