Year 5 have taken part in a music project this term ran by Trafford Music Services. The focus has been on Samba drums and all pupils have been given the opportunity to learn about rhythms and play different samba related instruments. Each week the children have been practising and performing musical pieces which they are going to be playing at the Extraffordganza at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in July. They have worked extremely hard and have really impressed Mr McMinn with their excellent singing and percussion work.
Year 5 pupils have recently been to Conwy for their annual residential. The weather was glorious and the trip was packed full of wonderful activities from archery to obstacle course and rock climbing to orienteering around Conwy park. Then if that wasn't enough, they had a brilliant tour around Conwy castle, learning about the history of this magnificent building. As you can imagine the pupils had a great time and were extremely tired when they returned home. It was another successful residential away for Cloverlea.
