Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

Sunday 12th July

Hi Year 3,

I must begin this letter by apologising for not writing one last week. I really don't know what happened. The weeks seem to be very busy. I hope that you are all okay and are looking forward to the Summer holidays. I know that I am and have started thinking of booking a short break somewhere in the UK, where I can go and just chill out a little bit.

I know I did say that I would prepare one more chilli challenge for you to complete but I have changed my mind. Instead I have put up some fun summer activities for you to do instead. If you had been in school, at this time of year, we would have been having our DT Summer Picnic and we would have played lots of rounders and cricket. You would have also done a written review of the year, identifying the things you have enjoyed and the topics you have liked and where you consider you have improved. So, even though we are not in school, these are some activities that you might want to do over the last two weeks of home learning.

As you will know, hopefully, we have our last Zoom meeting on Friday 17th July and I am looking forward to seeing all of you. I thought we could share with each other what we are planning for the Summer holidays and then I thought I would do a quiz with you all for a bit of fun. I am going to prepare it this week when I am at home. Last week I was in school, again, with the Key Workers. The theme was on the Yellow Brick Road and they completed a lovely piece of art work which we are keeping in the hall so you will be able to see it when you return to Cloverlea in September. I have attached a photo of their work at the end of this letter.

I hope you have a good week. Make sure you get the balance right between your home learning tasks and having fun. I think the weather is better this week so please make the most of it. I have three things I am looking forward to this week:- 1) I am having my hair trimmed and coloured. 2) I am going to see Mrs Marlow  with Mrs Perkin for a spot of Lunch on Thursday. I haven't see Mrs Marlow since lockdown so it will be nice to catch up with her.  3) I am meeting up with you guys on Friday in our Zoom meeting.

Till then everyone, please keep smiling and stay safe.

Mrs Dent
