Hello Year 3,
Another week has been and gone already. I just don't know where the time goes. I hope this letter finds you all well and ready to start another week of Home Learning Tasks. I have really liked some of your BBC Bitesize tasks, particularly the short stories that you were encouraged to write last week. I had a go at writing my own to share with the Key Worker children. They wrote some really good ones. Did you write one?
Here is my 25 word short story:
Mrs Dent was very hungry so she decided to raid the fridge. She opened the door and was immediately attacked and eaten by the vegetables.
If you haven't written a short story I challenge you to have a go. When I was a Year 5 teacher we used the book 'Short' by Kevin Crossley-Holland as an inspiration to write our own short stories. It is a really good book and all stories are short. I think the longest story is a couple of pages and the shortest is one sentence long. Maybe you could compile your own book of very short stories.
I am really looking forward to chatting with you on Friday in our Zoom meeting. I am hoping that all of you will be able to make it. I have been thinking about what I can show you that I have been doing at home. This weekend I constructed a new tool shed with Mr Dent and it looks pretty good, so I might show you a picture of that or I thought I might show you the fidget spinner I made at school last week with the Key Worker children. It is pretty cool and the children enjoyed making them so I have put the you tube video we used on the Home Learning Task Page for this week for you to have a go at.
I hope you have a good week, Year 3, and the weather allows you to get outside for some fun with your family. Please keep going and doing your best. It is making a difference. I will see you all, hopefully, on Friday at 2pm.
Keep smiling and keep safe
Mrs Dent
