Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a good week and that you are all ok.
It has been so good to see so many photos of you all enjoying the maths arithmetic questions at the school gate. I’m so pleased so many of you enjoyed that and participated. So today is the last day of your silly SATs week… Today’s test is reasoning – it is a little different to previous ones you have done though! I hope you enjoy it and the little treat I got you all for when your week of silly SATs is over! It is just a little something to say well done and how proud I am of you all for completing the work set and dealing with the coronavirus situation. Enjoy!
Don’t forget that if you do want to enter the Year 6 bake off competition, you have until 11am this morning to enter, as after that I will be sending the photos of the cakes to staff to judge. It’s such a shame we won’t be able to taste the cakes whilst judging!
Your tasks for today are as follows…
Maths: fractions of amounts
Continue to spend about 10 minutes working on your times tables on TTRS or hit the button in order to keep your fluency with them up.
When you have finished that, use the link below to find today’s lesson on finding fractions of amounts in context. Watch the videos and then solve the questions on the pdf worksheets. The answers are provided for you to self-mark when you have completed the tasks.
English: writing a recount
Today’s English task involves you learning to write a recount. Work through the activities by clicking on the link below.
For today’s well-being activity, why not have a game of bingo with your family?! You could design the sheets for everyone, giving each member of your family the same amount of numbers between 1 and 99, or let everyone choose their numbers like you sometimes do in class. To play, find a random number generator online (if you type that in Google, one comes up) and just make sure you set the minimum and maximum numbers to 1 and 99. As a challenge you could even call the numbers in French and hope your families are as good at French as you all are! Have fun!
Your topic tasks for this week…
As you have your silly SATs tests to complete this week, as well as your daily maths, English and wellbeing activities, I will not be providing any new chilli challenges until next week. If you would like more activities to keep you entertained though, have a look at the following links below. There are lots of topics for you to choose from and work independently on an area of your own interest. Let me know if you get stuck into any new learning or find a topic of particular interest.
Have a lovely day!
