Thursday 26th March 2020
Happy Thursday Year 6! I hope that you are all staying safe and well and that you are managing to enjoy the sunshine. It looks like Kirsty has been up to lots of activity in the garden to stay fit and healthy – well done and keep bouncing! Thanks for showing us on Twitter what you have been up to…it’s great to see you!
Your tasks for today are as follows…
PE: PE with Joe
Begin your day, as usual, with the PE with Joe workout. I’ve been doing them at school this week and I’m aching already…is anyone else or am I getting old?! Have you been joining in? Remember, you can do them at any time so if you are unable to do it live at 9am, you can always fit it in at another point in the day. I’d love to see more photos of you Year 6 children joining in, so please tweet us if you do! #PEwithJoe
Maths: complete the magic squares problem solving task.
As a warm up, spend 15 minutes whizzing thorough your times tables on TTRS and then 10 minutes working on your number bonds on hit the button (websites linked below on Monday’s post).
Then, use your number bond skills to complete through today’s magic square task. Read the instructions carefully and check your answers! When you get on to the squares with the negative numbers in, you might want to use a number line to help you add and subtract these. Good luck!
English: spellings and grammar
Continue to work on your spellings as needed.
Also, complete the grammar task I have attached below. Copy out the sentences into your home learning book so you can work on your handwriting as well as the grammar revision.
Your other tasks for this week…
Not that long left for our chilli challenges now – how many have you completed so far? Don’t forget to keep working on them and that you should aim to complete at least three altogether.
Enjoy this good weather too while it lasts! How about spending some quiet time in the garden reading a book or drawing? Have you made a rainbow yet to put in your window at home and spread happiness and positivity to those walking by? Keep a look out for the rainbow outside Cloverlea - maybe you could pass by on a daily walk to see it.
Also, try to keep active as much as you can by following the Joe Wicks videos or by doing other activities in your home or garden.
I hope you and your families are all safe and well and that you are all managing to stay happy at home. In our recent Jigsaw lesson, lots of you talked about how you don’t drink much water at home and said that was something you wanted to try and improve to stay healthy and reduce your headaches. Try and make sure you are drinking as much water at home as you would do in school, especially if you are in your garden a lot.
Thinking of you all,
Miss Boden J
