Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

Tuesday 31st March 2020

Good morning all!

I hope you all have a great day. Remember to get outdoors in the garden when you can to get some fresh air and to go for your daily exercise too if possible. I hope everyone is still feeling well and that your families are ok too.

Your tasks for today are as follows…

Maths: ratio

Continue to spend about 10 minutes working on your times tables on TTRS or hit the button in order to keep your fluency with them up.

To continue our week of ratio, after your times tables, please complete the second ratio lesson which I have linked below. Answers are also provided for you to self-mark once you have finished. If you need any guidance with this lesson, please follow the link below and watch the video that corresponds to today’s lesson (week 1 lesson 2).

English: writing task

Firstly, recap any spellings you learnt yesterday and check you have remembered to spell them correctly. Then, spend some time today learning another lot of spellings needed (up to about 12 words). Try and learn these throughout the day. Ask a parent or sibling to test you later in the day or tomorrow, after you have worked on learning them and see if you have remembered how to spell these words. If you have more to learn then continue to work on these over future days.

Your well-being activity for today is to watch a movie: you need to complete that activity first before your English writing task. Once you have watched a movie, your task is to write a film review. A film review should not be re-writing the plot of the movie, but summarising it and then expressing your opinions. Don’t worry about printing the sheet, you can just write the review in your home learning book. Follow the instructions at the side of the page and make sure your writing is as good as it would be at school! Share your review with a parent later today and see if they agree!

Well-being: watch a movie

To keep your minds healthy and positive, remember to complete your daily well-being activity where possible. For today’s well-being activity, I would like you to watch a movie. Don’t try and do it while doing anything else – get completely lost in the story and let your mind escape from reality! Remember to then complete your English task based on the movie once you’ve finished watching.

Your topic tasks for this week…

Keep working on your chilli challenges over the Easter break too if you want activities to do and don’t forget to keep up with Joe Wicks and Oti Mabuse if you can. Keeping active and healthy will be the best way to fight off the virus.

I hope you are all staying happy and healthy.
