Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

WB 11th May 2020

Happy Friday Year 2,

For today please complete the remaining activities from the links below. It has been wonderful to hear from so many of you this week, sharing your home learning and different activities that you have been doing with your families at home. I do love receiving emails from you all so please continue to do so over the coming weeks. I particularly enjoyed receiving your elf stories via email, so thank you to those children for sharing.

I have added a few more photographs below of some of the different activities we have done over our year together in Year 2. Talk to your grown ups at home to see what information you can remember from these pictures.

Have a great day, a lovely weekend and I'll be back next week

Year 2 memories

Good Morning Year 2,

The weather today looks like it might be a little better than the week so far, make sure you get outside for some exercise.

How are you getting on with your English booklet about The Elves and the Shoemaker? Yesterday in school, the children were creating their own stories about their own elves. I even had an email from one of our friends including their completed story. I would love to read the stories you have written. Please ask your grown ups if they can send your completed stories to me via email.

In Maths today you are looking at number bonds to 100, please use a combination of White Rose and BBC Bitesize for these activities.

Enjoy your day and I hope to see you soon

Mrs. Brogan

I have been looking back at some of the things we have done in Year 2, I have included some photographs for you to see. Can you remember what we were doing in the photographs I have included? Try to talk to your parents about some if not all of these activities.

Good Morning Year 2,

As it is Wednesday today would be a good opportunity to have a look at your Spellings and Times tables. This week I have asked you to look at the common exception words for Year 2, so please spend some time looking at correcting the words within the link below. You can ask your grown up to test you on your times tables as usual.

Please continue to look at your daily English and Maths learning using a combination of BBC Bitesize, White Rose and the booklet about The Elves and the Shoemaker'.

Let's hope the weather is a little better today so we can get outside a bit more

Enjoy your day

Love Mrs. Brogan

Good Morning Year 2,

Did you enjoy your weekend? Today I am spoilt between telling you about my VE Day celebrations or thanking you for your amazing photograph collage that I received on Thursday. Or the wonderful progress I can see when I look at Epic! Oxford Owls or TTRS.

I think for today I need to say thank you for the AMAZING photograph collage you made for all the staff working at Cloverlea. I was able to share it with them all as well as posting it onto twitter for everyone to see. For me, it was wonderful to see all your happy and smiling faces again. I cannot believe how grown up you all look. Thank you.

Mrs. Brogan

Thank you

For your English lessons this week please use the link below. This will direct you to a booklet surrounding the theme 'The Elves and the Shoemaker'  which may be a story you are already familiar with.

Please work through this booklet at your own pace

An audio version of the story can be found here:

In addition, you have the option of also completing the work on the BBC Bitesize website

Over the last three weeks you have been looking at the common exception words for Year 2 within your weekly spellings. This week I have attached some work for you to complete using your knowledge of these spellings. Please spend some time this week applying what you have learnt to this work.

Please continue to learn your 2, 5, and 10 times tables up to 12. If you feel you are confident with these start to look at the 3 times tables as well. Don't forget that you can use your times tables log ins to help you with this.

Please see the link below for this weeks mathematics lessons from White Rose. This week you will be looking back at addition and subtraction, looking at number sentences and related number facts.

Please look at Summer Term - Week 3 (w/c 4th May)

In addition, don't forget that you can also head over to BBC Bitesize to look at their mathematics lessons too

For this week's Well Being activity I have given you some Well Being Mindfulness cards. These cards are designed to be used over the week. Each day choose a couple of cards to take time for yourself.
