Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

WB 13th July 2020

Hello Year 2,

I hope you have had a wonderful weekend and that you managed to enjoy the sunshine on Sunday. This weekend it was Evie's birthday, so we had a little party for her in the garden. Miss Bonney made a rainbow cake for her - which was delicious!

Please see below the information for this week's home learning. As always, please continue to email me with the progress you are making with your home learning. I have added some photographs of the children who have been emailing me in the week. I particularly love the creation of the Quangle Wangle Hat!

Have a fantastic week and I hope to see as many of you as possible on Friday for our Zoom session. Don't forget that we will be having a special guest! I have included some resources in the Well Being section at the bottom of the page for you to look at in preparation for this.

ENGLISH

This week in English I would like you to look at the work set on the BBC Bite Size website. This week they are looking at story writing; What is a story? Characters, Settings and then Planning and Writing. I have included a few additional sheets below to support you with this.

MATHS

This week in maths I would like you to continue to follow the work set on the BBC Bite size website. This week they continue to look at time, focusing on 5 minute intervals, hours and days, calculations and duration of time. If you feel you want some additional work, following on from the work provided on the BBC Bite size website, I have included some additional sheets below

SPaG

As I mentioned last week, you have now come to the end of your spellings for Year 2. Last week I included the booklet below based on the different suffixes we have looked at in Year 2. Please continue to work your way through this booklet over the course of this week.

TIMES TABLES

Please continue to practice the fluency of your times tables. This week I have added some different questions linked to your times tables for you to look at, at home.

WELL BEING

This week we have another Zoom session scheduled for Friday at 09:30.

In preparation for this I have added two documents below for you to have a look at. The first is an opportunity for you to think about all the wonderful things we have done during our time in Year 2. The second is for you to think about moving into Year 3 with Mrs. Dent. During our Zoom meeting on Friday we are lucky enough to be having a visitor for part of the session. In preparation for her visit, you might like to email me any questions you might have about going into Year 3, or even email over your completed booklet. I will share any questions you have with Mrs. Dent before the meeting so she can talk about these as a part of our Zoom meeting.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Friday.
