Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

WB 29th June 2020

Hello Year 2,

Please see your home learning for the week below. Please pay special attention to the well being section at the very bottom of the page as it contains information that you may wish to do before our Zoom meeting on Friday 3rd July.

In addition, I have added another Chilli Challenge to the relevant section of our home learning page. This time, it is a focus on Holidays, in particular the different seaside resorts that we have in the United Kingdom (UK).

It has been lovely to hear from some of you again this week, I have added some of the photographs I have received via email just below so that you can see what some of our friends have been up to at home. It has been lovely to see so many of you joining in with the rainbow challenges that Mrs. Rickels has been adding to the Cloverlea Twitter page each day.

I look forward to seeing you again on Friday at 09:30

Mrs. Brogan

ENGLISH

This week in English we will be working from the BBC Bitesize wesbite

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/z7s22sg/year-2-and-p3-lessons

This week they are looking at questioning, poetry and the alphabetical order of words before moving onto an abstract from George's Marvellous Medicine. Do you remember looking at this at the beginning of Year 2? It seems like such a long time ago now. In addition the the work on BBC Bitesize, I have added some additional worksheets for you to complete if you wish, but you do not have to complete these.

MATHS

This week in Maths we will be continuing with the work on the BBC Bitesize website

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/z7s22sg/year-2-and-p3-lessons

This week they are looking at measuring using grams and kg then volume using mm. We didn't spend much time looking at this in Year 2 so I think it will be good consolidation.

I have added some additional challenges below if you wish to do them, but it is not compulsory

TIMES TABLES

Please continue to practice your times tables, either using Times Tables Rockstars or the using the booklets below.

WELL BEING

This week's well being activity is to make something in preparation for this week's Zoom session. Don't forget our session with be this Friday 3rd July 2020 at 09:30. It will be using the same log in details as previously.

This week I would like you to think about different Super Villains. If the Corona Virus was a super villain, who would it be? I would like you to create your own Corona Villain however you like, design it and draw it then colour it or paint it. Perhaps you would like to make a 3D version of your villain, you could use dough or junk modelling materials, it is completely up to you.

On Friday as part of our Zoom session, I will give the children who did not attend the last session the opportunity to share something they have done during our home learning. Then, if you have designed and made a Corona Villain, I will ask you to talk about what you have done.

I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Friday.
