Hello Year 2,
thank you to those of you who were able to join us on our Zoom session on Friday, it was lovely to see your smiling faces again. For those of you who have sent me your villains and superhero’s from last week’s well being task I have added them below for everyone to enjoy.
Below you will find all of your home learning activities to complete during the week, plus some additional activities for you to do if you feel you want a little challenge.
In addition to your home learning I hope you are managing to enjoy some time with your families. It is wonderful to hear how you are beginning to meet up with other family members again and perhaps even a socially distanced get together with your friends.
This weekend Alfie and I made the most of the windy weather and went to fly a kite on a nearby field, we had so much fun! For those of you who were interested in my viewing of Frozen 2 - I LOVED it!
Please do continue to email me with your home learning progress in addition to your days out and successes at home, I love to hear about it. I have added photographs of children into the chilli challenge section or home learning fun section of our Year 2 page, so please have a look at what your friends have been up to.
Have a great week
This week in English I have included another booklet from Talk 4 Writing called 'The Quangle Wangle'. Please work through the booklet at your own pace and as always send in your completed writing, as I enjoy reading through your work.
In addition, please head over to the BBC Bite size website to look at the English work they have on offer for the week. It may be a good idea to take some time to practice your handwriting, don't forget to join letters as much as you can
This week in maths you will continue to look at the work set on the BBC Bite size Website. This week, they begin with a look at quaters, followed by a day on temperature before finishing with three days on Time. Since, there was such positive feedback on your look at Time last time, I have included some additional challenge sheets based on Time.
As we are now in July, you have come to the end of your weekly spellings and covered all the various patterns required within the Year 2 National Curriculum. As an alternative, I thought you could spend some time consolidating your understanding of suffixes. I have included a booklet below, which is quite lengthy, and so you may wish to look at it over a couple of weeks.
Remember to keep looking at your times tables. I have been getting some wonderful feedback about the progress children are making with them, including some healthy competition with siblings! You can, of course, use your log in for times tables rock stars, alternatively, I have included some different sheets for you to use below.
Well done to all those children who designed and created a villain as a part of last weeks Well Being activity. It was wonderful to see them as a part of our Zoom session and in emails. Thank you to those children who have emailed me their creations and for the positive feedback about our Zoom sessions.
This week I have included some activities for you to complete which require you thinking about the different things that make you happy. Enjoy!
