Hello Nursery,

Welcome to our 7th week of home learning and I'd like to say well done to you all! I was emailed a special award from EPIC reading this week because as a class you have collectively read 200 books online! Wow! It was lovely to also see some of you finding and making the number 12 in different ways at home.

I've been keeping busy at home this week and I'm very much looking forward to being in school with some of you next week. This week myself and Harry have been cycling lots and unfortunately getting wet as the weather hasn't been as good as it has in the previous weeks.

We are now in the month of May and this week there will be special celebrations for VE day on Friday, celebrating 75th anniversary of victory in Europe. Lots of people are celebrating this special time by decorating their houses and having parties in their front gardens with their neighbours. I have been busy making bunting to decorate my house and Harry has been making a hat to wear. Below are a few activities you might find useful if you would like to join in with your neighbours and have a VE party on Friday.

Mathematics.

This week I would like you to learn about the number 13. Can you find 13 in different ways? It might be 13 on a digital clock, or counting out 13 peas or duplo bricks. Can you sky write 13, draw it in sand, make it out of play-dough? The list is endless. I would like you to send me photographs of all the ways you have found or made the number 13 this week and I will create a number Powerpoint out of them for next week. Below I have found a PowerPoint all about 13 to help you get started.

This week I would also like you to complete the Hungry Caterpillar activities on White Rose Maths. Please follow the link below.

Phonics.

Last week we look at the letter 'a' that is found in phase 2 of Letters and Sounds. The phase 2 letters are s, a, t, p, i, n. To get us more familiar with these sounds I have included a satpin Powerpoint game below.

This week I would like you to focus on the letter 'i'. There is a link below that will take you to Mr Thorne and Geraldine Giraffe. Once you have watched this can you find things around your house or garden that have the 'i' sound? There is also 'my a workbook' to help you spot the letter 'i' and learn its formation.
