Hello Nursery,
I hope you have been enjoying the lovely sun that we have had over the last week. As you know, I was in school last week and we had great fun celebrating VE Day and making decorations for a party we had in school on Thursday. There is a video of our celebrations on this website and the Cloverlea Facebook page if you'd like to take a look. VE Day was on Friday and my neighbours and I decorated our homes and had a street party at the end of our drives. We had a great time and played lots of games.
Mathematics.
This week I would like you to learn about the number 14. Can you find 14 in different ways? It might be 14 on a digital clock, or counting out 14 peas or duplo bricks. Can you sky write 14, draw it in sand, make it out of play-dough? The list is endless. I would like you to send me photographs of all the ways you have found or made the number 14 this week and I will create a number Powerpoint out of them for next week. Below I have found a PowerPoint all about 14 to help you get started.
This week I would also like you to complete 'The Very Busy Spider' activities on White Rose Maths. Please follow the link below.
Phonics.
Last week we look at the letter 'i' that is found in phase 2 of Letters and Sounds. The phase 2 letters are s, a, t, p, i, n. To get us more familiar with these sounds I have included a satpin PowerPoint game found on last weeks page.
This week I would like you to focus on the letter 't'. There is a PowerPoint and some activities below. There is also 'my a workbook' to help you spot the letter 't' and learn its formation.
Well-being and Mindfulness.
After watching the children do a talent show last week in school, it gave me an idea for our nursery children. I thought we could have a bit of fun this week and embrace our unique gifts. Everyone has something to offer, we all shine in our own unique way, even if the gifts are more subtle and don't include a spotlight. This week we are going to celebrate our talents and show case them to each other. You can do this by drawing a picture of what makes you special/talented, or even make a video!
