Wednesday 15th April 2020

Hello Year 6! I am in school this week looking after key workers’ children and the classroom is extremely quiet without you all here! It’s very strange…

I hope everyone is ok and that you can enjoy the lovely weather today. Be careful though and make sure you put sun cream on when you are outside and stay in the shade – I didn’t yesterday as I didn’t think it was very hot and now I have a very red nose! Very embarrassing - it's a good job you lot aren't all here to laugh at me! I've learnt my lesson though and have smothered on the sun cream today.

I hope you have a great day.

Your tasks for today are as follows…

Maths: angles

Continue to spend about 10 minutes working on your times tables on TTRS or hit the button in order to keep your fluency with them up.

We will continue our work on angles today. After your times tables, please complete the next angles lesson which I have linked below. Answers are also provided for you to self-mark once you have finished. If you need any guidance with this lesson, please follow the link below and watch the video that corresponds to today’s lesson (Summer Term week 1 lesson 3).

English: spellings and reading

Continue to work on your spellings as needed.

Have a look at the image I have attached below and use your inference skills to answer the questions in full detail. When you are able to, show your parents the image and discuss your answers to the questions with them. Do they agree with you? Do they think differently? Remember, it is find to have different opinions and there are no right or wrong answers here!

Well-being: play a card game with your family

To keep your minds healthy and positive, remember to complete your daily well-being activity where possible. For today’s well-being activity, use a pack of cards if you have some at home and play a card game with your family. If you don’t have a pack of cards, you could make some, or make a different card game you could play. I hope you have fun!

Your topic tasks for this week…

If you haven’t already, have a look at the new chilli challenges I have uploaded for the Viking and Anglo Saxon topic. I hope you enjoy learning about this time period, especially all of those pupils who love history! What can you find out about the time when Vikings and Anglo Saxons were around? What was life like then?

Don’t forget your daily PE lesson with Joe Wicks! I hope you are still keeping up with him and keeping fit and healthy.

Stay safe and stay home.
