Hello everyone! I hope you have had a good start to the week and that you can enjoy the lovely sunny weather over the next few days. I was very warm walking to school this morning! Are you planning to do anything nice in the sun? I’m going to have another bbq on Thursday after school, so I’m looking forward to that!
Your tasks for today are as follows…
Maths: Theme Park Maths
Continue to spend about 10 minutes working on your times tables on TTRS or hit the button in order to keep them fluent and up to the speeds and accuracy we have worked so hard to achieve.
After that, please continue with your Theme Park Maths work from last week. You should now have finished your design of your theme park, and Tasks 2, 3 and 4.
Work out your profit and losses from the cafés, shops and ice cream stands you have in your park. For days 1-30, work out how much money you make from each of these attractions by multiplying the amount spent per customer. Find the total amounts made from admission and these attractions each day, then subtract the running costs that you calculated in Task 2. This will leave you with the total profit made. Once you have calculated the profit made for each of the 30 days, find your total profit for the first month by finding the sum.
Use the figure from Task 5 which shows your profit in the first month to find your profit for the first year. You can calculate this by finding 10% of the first month profit and adding this on to give you the second month profit. Repeat this, making sure you find 10% of each new total, not just adding the same figure on each time.
English: This is Me!
Over the next few days, you will be writing an advertisement all about yourself for your new secondary school. Today you will need to plan this. Start by completing a spider diagram all about yourself, your family, pets, your hobbies and interests, clubs you attend, what subjects you enjoy, what you’ve enjoyed most about primary school and what you are most looking forward to in secondary school.
Once that is complete, use your ideas to try and structure your plan. Think of five paragraphs you want to include and bullet point your ideas for each one. This will make writing this tomorrow much easier!
To keep your minds healthy and positive, remember to complete your daily well-being activity where possible. For today’s well-being activity, complete the wordsearch I have linked below.
Your additional lesson today is Jigsaw. This lesson will look at understanding how we can feel safe and the importance of friendships.
I hope you are all well and safe at home.
Have a lovely day!
