Hello Year 1,
This week, we would have been busy practising for our class assembly which should have taken place on Friday. As we cannot do this, I have collected together some photos of the fun things which we have done together. I hope you enjoy looking at them and talking about them instead!
From Mrs Harris
Dear Parents,
This week, I have made phonics a little different. I am sure that both you and the children will welcome a change! Instead of the daily sounds, I would like you to focus on the reading of the common exception words for Year 1. I have made a folder (called ‘Tricky Words’) which contains a list of these words and different activities. Please choose a different game (or games) each day.
If your child can already read the words, then you might wish to practise spelling them. There is spelling guidance at the bottom of the games page and you will recognise some of the words from our weekly spellings.
Please do make this fun for both yourselves and the children. Many of the games can be played outside.
Do remember to adapt activities to suit your home/work balance.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Harris
Well Being
This week, as we are learning about the story of ‘Cinderella’, you might like to visit the Disney on-line colouring pages. I had fun trying a few!
