Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

Week Beginning 27th April

Hello Year 1,

A great start to the week! I have been amazed to hear that together, you have read more than 1,100 ‘EPIC!’ books so far! I am very proud of you all! Keep reading!

From

Mrs Harris

Dear Parents,

I hope that you are keeping safe and well. This week, the DFE are releasing daily phonics lessons as from today. New lessons will be uploaded every weekday, and will be available to watch, throughout the summer term. Daily lesson upload times are:

10am - Reception - Most suitable for children who can blend and read words such as 'fish', 'chat' and 'rain'

10:30am - Year 1 - Most suitable for children who can confidently blend and read words such as 'stamp', 'chair' and 'green'

11am - Learning to Blend - extra blending practise for children in Reception and Year 1.

There is short useful introductory video. The link is:

For the time being, I will continue to plan phonic learning for where we would be in class, but please do use the lessons if you find that they are easier to follow. No content is yet available so I will also tune in next week!

Just a quick look ahead for the week. In maths, we are learning about mass and weight. I have set an optional easy baking task for Friday. There are no expectations, but should you wish to complete this, you might like to look head at the ingredients!

Take care,

Mrs Harris

Try some of the challenges from the activity cards. You don't have to do them all!
