Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

Week Beginning 4th May

Hello Year 1,

Last week as you know, I was in school. We spent a lot of time doing Joe Wicks PE and playing rounders and cricket! Did you enjoy dress-up Friday?

This weekend I planted some sunflower plants outside as they are too big for on my kitchen window sill! Holly has been enjoying lots of tickles and snuggling up to her favourite toys! She also likes to play a game of hunting for tiny pieces of apple hidden around the room!

I also have quite a few family birthdays, so I am busy trying to plan some fun presents to make them smile. My great nephew is nearly 1 year old. He has been busy watching the dogs playing in the park when he goes for his daily exercise. He made everyone nearby laugh because he decided to try to run around with a stick in his mouth just like the dogs were doing!

Have a fun week!

Love from

Mrs Harris

Dear Parents,

This week, I will be providing lessons for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Friday is a VE Day and is therefore a Bank Holiday. Please do enjoy some time with your family if you are able to do so. On Thursday all teachers have planned some VE Day activities for the children to dip into in place of lessons. If would rather  continue with more formal activities, ‘BBC Bitesize’ have daily lessons for you to dip into!

I have had a couple of requests regarding 'Rockstars Times Tables'. Please keep practising the 2, 10 & 5 times tables. The three times tables are taught in Year 2, so access to these will be allocated in the next school year.

Please find attached, a letter from the DFE about Daily Phonics lessons online. I did mention this in my note to you last week. Having looked at the content, we are further ahead at Cloverlea. However, the lessons are useful for revision and for if your child is finding activities too challenging. I will continue to plan short daily sessions.

Take care,

Mrs Harris

Well Being

Try some of the activities on the new cards. You don't have to do them all! A circuit could be around a room or your garden.

You might like to try out some of the fun yoga activities which I have added to our whole school 'Home Learning Page'.
