Cloverlea Primary School

Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

Year 1

Dear Year 1 children and parents,

Welcome to the Year 1 Home Learning Page.

Please do check this on a daily basis for lessons and activities that you can do whilst at home. Each day there will be different Maths and English activities. There will also be a ‘Chilli Challenge’ with topic activities. You can complete as many as you like, but try to do at least three.

Don’t forget to keep reading by using your ‘EPIC!’ log-in. There are so many amazing books. Please do try to read at least one book each day.

You can also use your ‘Rockstars Timetables’ log-in in. Start with your ten times tables. You can also google and play ‘Hit the Button’ like we do in class. Start with doubles to 10 and perhaps try some number bonds.

Don’t forget that you can begin each day by participating in the Joe Wickes 30 minute PE lessons which are streaming live at 9.00 every Monday to Friday. It would be lovely to think of everyone joining in at the same time!

I am looking forward to hearing about all your hard work and learning when we are back in class. Don't forget to keep following our school values.

Best wishes and take care

Mrs Harris

Zoom Meetings

I am lucky enough to be able to see lots of Year 1 in school, but I did miss seeing the rest of you so I really enjoyed our first 'Zoom' meeting. I was a little bit nervous about whether you would join me and about whether something might go wrong with the log-in. I think some grown-ups were also a little bit worried, but we all managed! It was really lovely to see all your smiling faces and to hear your news. I really miss all all little chats so it made me happy for the rest of the day!smiley

We have two more 'Zoom' meetings.

Friday 3rd July 2020 at 11.00 am.

Friday 17th July 2020 at 11.00 am.

Mrs Rickels has written a special code of conduct, so don't forget to have another look to remind yourselves before our next chat.

I would love you to bring along something which you are proud of. It can be a drawing, a model, a piece of writing. It doesn't have to be school work! I will invite Jigsaw Jack as I know that he has also missed you all! I would of course, like to hear all your news and perhaps I could bring some messages from your friends at school. I do feel very proud to be your teacher. You have worked hard, learnt new things and above all kept smiling! Please do keep sending me your photos and messages. I am already looking forward to our next meeting!

A Message from Mrs Brogan
