Mrs. Brogan

Year 2, what successful Zoom sessions we have had! It is just wonderful to see so many of your smiling faces and to hear about all the different things you have been doing.

During our last session we were lucky enough to have a special guest - Mrs. Dent! During this meeting, Mrs. Dent was able to answer your questions about what it will be like when you join Year 3.

As you begin Year 3, Mrs. Dent will be your classroom teacher and Mrs. Denniston will be working with you also. During our final Zoom session of the year, Mrs. Dent told us about some of the things you can look forward to when you start in Year 3. Here are some of the highlights;

  • You will be learning about lots of different things, from; Kings and Queens, to the Ancient Greeks. The weather as a part of an Extreme Earth topic and lots of new and exciting things in Computing. She also talked about using Art4Kids as a part of your art lessons.
  • You will begin the year learning about Europe as a part of your Geography and Animals as a part of science as well as English and Maths.
  • You will be using the daily mile track weekly and you will be able to use the junior climbing frame once a week at lunchtimes.
  • You will stay in the same groups from Year 2 at the start of the year. As the year progresses you may be changed around a little. Mrs. Dent said the names of the maths groups are numbers; 4, 3, 2 and 1
  • Mrs. Dent hopes to book a school trip for Year 3 as we missed out on one this year and she will plan this with you.
  • You will continue to have a weekly Golden Time.
  • Finally, Mrs. Dent talked about her dog Poppy who is a Boarder Terrier. She told us that she takes her swimming as part of hydrotherapy.
