Year 3

Letter from Mrs Dent

Dear Year 3,

I could not let the academic year come to an end without writing to you. I want you to know that I have really enjoyed being your teacher and feel privileged that I had the opportunity to get to know each and everyone of you, even if it was cut short. Mrs Rickels is so lucky to be having you next year and I know she is going to love every minute of teaching you, as I did.

I have so many happy memories of our short time together in school and even during lockdown, and I look back on these very fondly. I never thought I would enjoy being in Year 3 so much, as I have always taught the older children, but you have definitely made each day at school a happy one. Thank you, Year 3. All I ask now is that you enjoy your Summer holiday and come back to school in September refreshed and ready to get back to your learning again. I cannot wait to see you all and catch up on what you have been doing.

May I say a big thank you for the kind gifts you have sent in to school for me. They are really appreciated.

Now all I need to say is...

Keep Smiling and to Keep Safe. See you in September. smileyheart

Welcome to the Year 3 Home Learning Page.

Please do check this on a daily basis for lessons and activities that you can do whilst at home. Each day there will be different Maths and English activities. There will also be a ‘Chilli Challenge’ with topic activities. You can complete as many as you like, but try to do at least three.

Don’t forget to keep reading by using your ‘EPIC!’ or Oxford Owl log-in. I have selected books for you to read but feel free to select your own too. You are definitely spoilt for choice, so enjoy reading.

Remember to use your Time Tables Rock Stars ’ login in to practice your tables. I will make sure you have been given the right ones to learn. Don't forget you can also access Numbots from the same login as TTRS so use this resource too, if you get chance.

Don’t forget that you can begin each day by participating in the Joe Wickes 30 minute PE lessons which are streaming live at 9.00 every Monday to Friday. It would be lovely to think of everyone from Cloverlea joining in at the same time!

Keep singing Year 3. You could use the Little Belters videos on the Home Learning page or you could just pick a song each day, or at least each week, to get you and your family singing along to. You Tube is a good resource for this but make sure you get permission from your parents.

It is a great shame that we are not in school and I am unable to teach you but I hope you will do your best and show your parents what great learners you are. Remember the school values and let them shine just as bright at home as they do in school.

Enjoy your home learning and hopefully it won't be for too long. I look forward to seeing what you have been doing whilst away from school and I do expect to see you doing other things that are not part of home learning too. Take care and be safe.

Best wishes

Mrs Dent

Class Chats with Zoom

It is amazing how we can keep in contact during these times with technology. Thanks to Zoom we are able to keep in touch and share all our news with one another. I know it is not the classroom but it is a great place where we can meet and it is good for our wellbeing too.

Next Class Chat: Our next Zoom meeting is on Friday 17th July at 2:00pm

Focus: Because this will be our last Zoom meeting I thought that I would find out what each of you are planning for your Summer holidays and then I thought we could end with a short quiz, for a bit of fun. I will try to base it around all of the learning that we have done at school and at home during the year. It is a bit of fun so please don't worry. Its the taking part and having fun that counts. Enjoy your week and I will see you on Friday.

Code of Conduct: To make the most of our Zoom Chat it is important that we follow a code of conduct so that everyone is heard and feels comfortable. It is important that we wait our turn to speak and listen to others when they are speaking. Everyone's contribution is important so let us make sure everyone feels that and enjoys the Zoom Chat.

I really enjoyed seeing and catching up with you in our last meeting and I cannot wait to catch up with you again. In the meantime, keep smiling and stay safe.
