Cloverlea Primary School

Inspiring children to care, learn and achieve

Year 3

Like everything at school at the moment, things are a little different and homework is a little different too. We will not be sending homework home anymore. Instead we will be posting weekly homework tasks on the school website for you to complete at home. Below you will find an outline of the homework that you will be receiving each week. I will be going through this with you on Thursday/Friday mornings, so you need to make sure that you have completed it at home. If you get stuck on anything ask your parents for some help and make sure you tell me when you are in school so that I can help you too.

Enjoy your learning.

Year 3 Weekly Homework Schedule

Reading

Aim to read at least 10-15 minutes each night.

Home Reading books will be changed on Tuesday and Friday so make sure you bring your reading books to school on these days otherwise they will not be able to be changed. Reading is very important so make sure you make the most of the online resources available to you as well such as Epic. You will be sent an email about this and how you can set up Epic reading at home.

Spellings

Each week you will have a list of spellings to learn.

Get into the habit of practising them everyday using the Look, Say, Cover, Write and

Check strategy.

Your Spelling Test will take place on Friday and results will be recorded in home reading record books on Monday.

Times Tables

Practice your times tables each week using online games and Times Tables Rockstars.

Your login details are the same as last year. If you do not know your details make sure

you ask me for them. TTRS is a great resource and is a fun way to practice your tables

and improve the speed of your recall. You should be focusing on your 2x, 3x, 5x and

10x tables to start with.

Maths

You will receive one piece of Maths homework each week. It will be based on the learning

we have been doing in the classroom. Sometimes there will be an extension worksheet to complete for those of you who like a challenge.

English

You will receive one piece of English homework each week. This will also be based on the learning we have been doing in the classroom. It will be clear what tasks you will need to complete and this will depend on the English group that you are in.
